This role will be part of the Small Business Group Marketing Science Team focusing on supporting our smaller businesses globally by better understanding how these businesses can grow using our platforms through data and science. This person will manage a team executing key media and measurement research projects intended to deliver strategies and insights. This role will grow and manage a team of Marketing Scientists working to support small businesses maximize their success at scale. The person in this role will provide strategic guidance and manage key sales relationships focused on small businesses using scaled channels. They and their team will lead research projects, and deliver actionable recommendations to the business. They will be working on identifying opportunities to develop and refine different treatments and supporting the go-to-market strategy to maximize the business success of the clients we support. They will also be responsible for building strategies and proactive initiatives executed globally in partnership with various cross functional partners based on research. We're looking for an expert in research and measurement methods and critical thinking skills to successfully influence how businesses conduct marketing. This person will work closely with key cross functional sales, and marketing science teams to run research projects with small businesses. To succeed in this role, this person will need to coach their team to develop data driven best practices, marketing science go-to market strategies for customer segments, as well as evolve how to execute and learn for small businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media or advertising effectiveness research along with a natural curiosity to understand how things work. They should be passionate about growing and developing a team of people analytically minded, a great communicator, and able to partner and influence across complex organizations. This position is full-time.
Manager, Marketing Science SBG Responsibilities
  • Manage, develop, and motivate a group of marketing scientists.
  • Be a thought leader and go-to expert for marketing science based strategy.
  • Lead and conduct deep-dive research and analyses to identify opportunities for small businesses to be more successful on our platforms.
  • Work cross functionally to develop solutions and strategies based on team’s research that scale to millions of small businesses worldwide.
  • Facilitate customer centric, data-driven decision making and prioritization.
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships across Meta to drive our team's success.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/BA Degree in Economics, Statistics, Business, Quantitative Psychology, Applied Mathematics or similar field
  • 8+ years experience in a quantitative field, such as consulting, measurement, market research, media research, data science, product development or user experience research
  • Experience managing, hiring, coaching and developing a team
  • Communication skills and experience influencing in a business setting
  • Experience with applied statistics including sampling approaches, experimentation, causal inference, etc.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL-like query languages
  • Experience with an analysis tool such as R, SAS or SPSS
  • Experience with presenting and partnering with technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the advertising industry or consumer behavior
  • Understanding of current media landscape and challenges small business advertisers face
  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative field
