The Central Investigations & Cybersecurity team is dedicated to keeping users of Meta technologies safe. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced investigator who will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging, high-visibility risks the company faces. We are seeking an investigator with experience in understanding and mitigating human exploitation issues. In addition to having a strong investigative and analytical background, we are seeking an investigator who has experience making risk-based decisions and who is passionate about protecting people. The successful candidate will be able to assess and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and proactively collaborate with teams across the company. Child Safety/HEx Investigations Analyst Responsibilities
  • Investigate complex cases and identify sources of abuse while also conducting deep analysis of how abuse may manifest, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to target vulnerable populations and engage in child safety exploitation and human exploitation, including but not limited to commercial sex trafficking
  • Investigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats and violations of our Community Standards
  • Independently manage multiple analyses while effectively prioritizing time
  • Identify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harm
  • Work cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering and Integrity partners to improve the detection of behavior that violates our Community Standards
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to identify potential abuse
  • Conduct complex attribution and network investigations
  • Maintain availability for after-hours and weekend work
  • This role may involve exposure to graphic and/or objectionable content including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other potential objectionable material, i.e. child exploitation, graphic violence, self-injury, animal abuse, and other content which may be considered offensive or disturbing.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of investigative or analytical experience
  • Subject matter knowledge related to how harms against vulnerable populations or human exploitation against children may manifest online
  • Investigative or analytical experience related to online harms against children and vulnerable populations
  • Proven analytical and investigative skills combined with the experience to quickly assess large amounts of data in order to detect critical and credible information
  • Experience working with graphic and/or objectionable content
  • Experience working independently under high pressure situations and make sound decisions
  • Experience and inclination to protect highly confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in multiple languages
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analytics programming coding languages and data visualization tools
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience conducting child safety investigations or human exploitation investigations on behalf of a technology company
  • Experience effectively managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and changing environment
